Premier Inn, India announces elevation of Shwetank Singh as their Director – Brands & Operations and Rohit Sharma as Head of Product
New Delhi, May, 2010: Premier Inn India, the UK’s biggest hospitality chain recently announced the elevation of Mr. Shwetank Singh as the Director – Brands and Operations and Mr. Rohit Sharma as their Head of Product.
Mr. Shwetank Singh:
Mr. Shwetank Singh joined Premier Inn in 2007 as Director for Business Development and has more than a decade of strategic planning and management experience. In his new role Mr. Singh will provide leadership to further enhance Premier Inn’s presence in the county. He now sits on the Board of Premier Inn India. His astute leadership & management experience have helped Premier Inn in synergizing technological innovation with human brilliance to establish & sustain its leadership status in the Indian sub-continent.
An alumnus of the Faculty of Management Studies (Delhi) and the Indian School of Mines Dhanbad, Shwetank has held a variety of roles in his professional career. He started working with Tata Steel as Senior Officer (Engg) in 1998, where he worked for two years managing large teams of labour in a unionized environment and extremely challenging working conditions. Prior to his association with Premier Inn, Mr. Singh also served at IL&FS, one of India's leading infrastructure development and finance companies where he was handling several government and private relationships. In this role he was exposed to the tourism and hospitality sector and he decided to explore this vocation further.
Mr. Rohit Sharma:
Mr. Rohit Sharma is now elevated to the position ‘Head of Product’. Rohit joined Premier Inn India 14 months ago as Head of F&B and did a tremendous job of creating LINX and ’87 (the Multi-Cuisine Restaurant and Bar) at Premier Inn Bangalore Whitefield, their flagship property in India. He was also instrumental in working with the Procurement/
With thirteen years of rich experience in hospitality industry Rohit carries with him a strong working knowledge in different areas of Food & Beverage. He has worked in different positions at The Leela, JW Marriott, The Taj group of hotels and Sarovar hotels. In this new role Rohit will pick up accountability for all matters relating to Product (Room, Services and F&B) as well as Marketing and PR activity for Premier Inn India.
