May 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Bangalore, INDIA : Lanika Solutions and Maplesoft™ announced the simultaneous releases of its core products – MapleSim™, the high-performance, physical modeling and simulation tool, and Maple™, the technical computing software for engineers, mathematicians, and scientists. These products are based on Maplesoft’s core technologies, which include the world’s most advanced symbolic computation engine and revolutionary physical modeling techniques. MapleSim and Maple support cutting-edge research and enhance student comprehension in mathematics and technical subjects.

For engineering departments, MapleSim 4 introduces a new 3-D construction feature that saves engineers significant time when developing multibody models and promotes greater understanding for students. MapleSim provides instant, realistic feedback of multibody systems by dynamically rendering the model as it is built. In addition, the 3-D construction environment lets engineers add and manipulate multibody components directly in the 3-D workspace. Other new features include flexible probe management tools, including an easy way to add new probes to previous simulation results without having to rerun the simulation; a new semi-stiff solver that provides good results for stiff systems without the overhead formulation costs of a true stiff solver, and new and enhanced analysis tools, including tools for exploring multibody equations. In Maple 14, customers will find increased depth and breadth of math for engineering applications, including new control system design tools, linearization tools, and new solvers, which help produce better designs and allow students to explore a variety of design techniques.

For mathematics, science, and engineering departments, Maple provides a comprehensive mathematical computation engine, an intuitive technical document interface, connectivity with other tools, and resources for teaching and learning. The latest release introduces the MapleCloud™ Document Exchange, a revolutionary way to create, share, and receive technical documents all within a single integrated environment. Increased performance in Maple 14 means solutions can be found even faster, and larger problems can be tackled. Enhancements to the work environment include improved search capabilities for the help system, new tools for creating and exploring plots, expanded connectivity with MATLAB® through the integration of the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB® directly into Maple 14, and an expanded collection of fill-in-the-blank templates to help students visualize regions of integration in multiple integrals.

“Symbolic computation technology is an increasingly important part of any technical education, in part because of its increased use in industry,” said Jim Cooper, President and CEO of Maplesoft.  “We are pleased to be able to offer universities a suite of products that support their research efforts, enhance their teaching, and, by exposing students to modern problem solving techniques, help prepare their students for the future.”

Zakir Hussain, Director of Lanika Solutions said, ““Maplesoft products has built tremendous reputation globally by working hard to make regular improvements to enrich Maple & MapleSim products with new features & applications. The launch of Maple 14 & MapleSim 4 continues on this history, providing new arena to the customers which is a part of our commitment.
