Paul Cochrane from the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates was recently asked to come discuss with the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) Houston Chapter about new ways to market an IAQ business in a recovering economy.
The IAQ Video Network took this opportunity to report on the IAQA Houston Chapter workshop. The network packed their bags and left Phoenix, Arizona for the 2 ½ hour flight to Houston. Upon arriving in Houston they were quickly reminded of how humidity can play such a major role in IAQ since as they walked off the plane they were immediately greeted with a blast of warm and humid Texas air.
Upon arriving on May 14, 2010 at the historic Houston Engineering and Scientific Society Club (HESS), which was founded in 1918, the IAQA Houston Chapter workshop was getting ready to get underway. Approximately 25 local members were in attendance. Travis West, the Chapter Director from Building Air Quality informed the members of the latest chapter news before introducing the day’s two speakers.
Attendees first heard from Dr. Larry Robertson from Indoor Environmental Consultants. He provided a fascinating presentation regarding when and why mold growth occurs in indoor environments. Paul Cochrane had the opportunity finish the day’s talks and informed the attendees about how they can market their IAQ businesses utilizing the latest technologies such as social media, online videos, press releases and more.
Local IAQA members in attendance asked educated questions of the presenters and left the chapter meeting with new ideas into two important aspects of their jobs. “It was a great to meet the IAQA Houston Chapter and interact with their members,” reported Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company responsible for the IAQ Video Network. “The IAQ Video Network will be producing new video updates in the next few weeks from the IAQA Honolulu Chapter Workshop and the 2010 AIHce Conference in Denver.”
