Originally, it was thought this would apply to the 2009 - 2011 renewal cycle, but duing the November 2009 meeting, the Board voted to delay implementation of mandatory continuing education until the 2011-13 license renewal period.
It is the current position of the board to require continuing education for the 2011 - 2013 renewal cycle. Licensees will need to meet the education requirement to renew applications in September 2013. During the March 2010 meeting, the continuing education group recommended regulations for board review and approval and it is anticipated that final rule making will occur in the fall of 2011. "That will give licensees and providers at least six months advance notice to begin compliance with the CE requirements"
The board will provide updates in the promulgation of this rulemaking."
