There will be significant changes for the Medigap system taking place the 1st of June 2010. Adjustments to Medigap include the cancelation of four policies while two brand new ones will be added. Government guidelines from back in 2005 are the reason for all these alterations.
Medigap policy modifications :
* The deletion of Medigap Policies E, H, I and J.
* The removal of home recovery and also preventative treatment benefits from all policies
* A growth in the benefit for excess charge will increase to 100 % in Medigap Plan G.
* The introduction of Medigap Plan N and Medigap Plan M.
* The hospice benefit will be included with Medigap Plans A through G.
Just new insurance policies issued after June 1, 2010 are going to be affected by these adjustments. Men and women registered in insurance policies ahead of 6-1-10 will not be impacted. Individual Medicare end users will not need to make changes to their Medigap policies except if their active plans no longer satisfy their needs.
