National kindness day to launch in November

UK humanitarians to spearhead UK Kindness Day on November 13th 2010
 
May 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Louise Burfitt-Dons launches UK Kindness Day on November 13th along with  fellow humanitarian and Secret Millionaire star David Jamilly.

‘'World Kindness Day has been celebrated in several countries for many years but this will be the first for the UK," she said.

The idea behind the UK Kindness Day dawned when the two like-minded English campaigners decided an umbrella organisation was needed to highlight good deeds around the nation.

Louise Burfitt-Dons FRSA is a speaker who promotes humanitarian issues. She is a founder director of the Global Warming Alliance a research and campaigning group focused on the effects of climate change and  children’s charity Act Against Bullying. She has-been involved with the World Kindness Movement since 2005.

The idea behind the World Kindness Movement (WKM) crystallised at a conference in Tokyo in 1997 when the Small Kindness Movement of Japan brought together similar kindness movements from around the world. The WKM was officially launched in Singapore on 18 November 2000 at the 3rd WKM Conference. The mission of the WKM is to inspire individuals towards greater kindness and to connect nations to create a kinder world.
