RAI and its sister company, Active Construction, Sewell, each received the Governor’s Annual Occupational Safety and Health Award on May 11, 2010 at a banquet at Auletto Caterers, Almonesson, NJ, for achievement in the prevention of occupational injuries during the year 2009.
“At RAI, safety is driven from the top, and at every staff meeting, RAI leaders address safety and emphasize it as our number one priority,” said Jim Specht, RAI Safety Director. “These awards are confirmation that everyone on the RAI team believes in and follows through with the company’s high standards for safety.”
Founded in 1974 by Raymond J. Angelini of Woodbury, NJ, RAI was the primary electrician on the Cobbs Creek Market Street Elevated Reconstruction Project recently named ‘Project of the Year’ at the March of Dimes 17th Annual Transportation, Building & Construction Awards Luncheon.
RAI serves commercial clients in NJ, PA, DE and MD. Originally established as an electrical contracting company, RAI formed a solar division in 2004 and has since completed solar projects throughout NJ, PA, DE and MD.
“RAI has installed more solar capacity than any other firm in the State of NJ,” said Sean Angelini, RAI Solar Division Manager. “Most notable being the Atlantic City Convention Center—the largest single-roof power array installation in the country at the time of completion in December 2008.”
Currently, RAI is working with the Government Services Administration (GSA) on site at the Veteran’s Administration Center, Philadelphia, PA to provide a new Energy Star-rated roof and solar array, a project that is the direct result of GSA’s commitment to green design and construction and the agency’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Other solar projects where RAI is on site include a 1,351,000 square foot solar rooftop array on a South Brunswick, NJ, facility owned by Williams Sonoma and the largest privately installed solar array in Gloucester County, NJ at the headquarters of glass manufacturer J.E. Berkowitz LP, Pedricktown, NJ.
