By: BT Financial Group During this time, we’ve been making gradual changes to the BT Multi-manager funds by the asset class exposures, and determining the investment manager line-up and mandates to deliver better and more consistent risk-adjusted returns for our investors. We’ve now completed some changes to the investment manager line-up for our Australian shares, fixed interest and property sectors, and Multi-manager Diversified Funds. This is the final stage of our process to align the investment strategy, performance and risk management of the BT Multi-manager and Advance Multi-Blend funds, which means from 15 April 2010 all BTFG multi-manager funds have the same investment managers and the same strategic asset allocation strategy. A recipe for change The conditions we experienced during the GFC allowed us to really examine the market and take advantage of emerging opportunities. As a result, these manager changes not only make the most of the opportunities going forward, but also to appropriately manage risks. The changes we have made to our investment manager line up represent our focus on hand picking boutique and specialist managers not just for their individual capabilities, but also for their complementary characteristics. New manager line-up Australian shares • Alleron Investment Management • Ausbil Dexia • BT Investment Management • Celeste Funds Management • Contango • Northcape • Schroders Fixed Interest • Franklin Templeton Investments • Standish Mellon • Wellington Management • Perennial Investment Partners Property • CBRE • European Investors • Perennial Investment Partners • Colonial First State As a result of the changes and our active investment management, our portfolios offer greater diversification and the potential to achieve sustainable long-term outperformance over benchmarks and our peers. We'll continue to actively review the allocations for all our investment managers within our robust risk management framework and make adjustments as needed to deliver the optimal selection and allocation of investment managers so the BT Multi-manager Funds can meet and exceed their objectives over the long term. What do you need to do? Nothing - you’re still invested in the same fund, only the investment managers who manage the underlying assets in the Fund have changed. As an active investment manager we believe our new investment manager line-up offers better potential for the Funds to continually meet and exceed the objectives set and ultimately result in better returns for our investors.
