Dunes Launches “Bands On The Sand” -- Free Live Music Saturdays Through Summer

May 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort will strike just the right note when it introduces “Bands On The Sand,” a free concert series featuring a line-up of musical acts ranging from New Wave and soul to classic R&B to Tropic Rock. According to Andrew Theodorou, general manager and executive vice president of the Dunes, Bands on the Sand will kick off Memorial Day weekend and include some of live music’s best known local acts who will perform right on the sandy shore of the Dunes. JUNE 19 – Steel Parade makes use of steel drums to navigate their way through funk, rock, reggae, Calypso and ska.

JUNE 26 – The Scott Martin Latin Soul Band is best known as the back-up band for Grammy winning Poncho Sanchez. The group has recorded with Ray Charles and Billy Preston.
