Harrison Named Practice Manager at Visiting Physicians Association’s® St. Louis Office

May 13, 2010 - PRLog -- St. Louis – May 13, 2010 – Rebecca L. Harrison has been named practice manager by Visiting Physicians Association® (“VPA®”, www.visitingphysicians.com) for its recently opened St. Louis office located at 8710 Manchester Rd.  The office covers the greater St. Louis area, including Jefferson, St. Charles and St. Louis counties.

In this position, Harrison is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the administrative and clinical areas.  She also will handle management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures for the physician practice.

America’s leader in house call medicine and specialists in geriatric care, VPA is staffed by more than 145 highly-qualified physicians across 31 locations in nine states available to assist in the diagnosis and ongoing medical treatment of seniors. VPA also has offices in Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, Wisconsin and Virginia.  

Prior to joining VPA, Harrison was a clinical consultant for R. Harrison Clinical Consultant in St. Louis.  In this role, she performed a variety of clinical services for home health and hospice agencies.  As a consultant, Harrison worked with multiple companies on new market development which brought various wound care and patient education programs to St. Louis.  During this time, she also worked for St. John’s Mercy Hospital as a part-time hospice nurse.

She also has worked as a marketing consultant/case manager for Apollo Medical, Inc., also in St. Louis, and held out of state positions as sales/marketing consultant for MicroVas Technologies, Inc. in Tulsa, Okla., bariatric clinical consultant for Tyco, US Surgical in Norwalk, Conn.

Harrison holds nursing degrees from the Barnes School of Nursing in St. Louis and Barnes College of Nursing at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
