According to a nationwide government survey released in December 2008, approximately 38 percent of U.S. adults (about 4 in 10) aged 18 years and over and approximately 12 percent of children (1 in 9) use some form of alternative medicine. The highest percentage by age group is between 30 and 69 years old. Use is greater among women.
The top ten most common forms of therapy used are natural products (fish oil/omega 3, glucosamine, echinacea, flaxseed and ginseng) followed by deep breathing, meditation, chiropractic and osteopathy, massage, yoga, diet based therapies, progressive relaxation, guided imagery and homeopathic treatment.
In an effort to go beyond the basics and increase the knowledge for personal and family use of alternative medicine and integrate it into mainstream lifestyles, Dr. Aristotle Economou is presenting Elite One Day Workshops entitled; “If You Wear Out Your Body, Where Will You Live” in Pebble Beach, California. This exclusive step by step, all day event empowers participants in the use of in home, time-tested self-help techniques in alternative therapies they will be able to use for years to come.
