PRLog (Press Release) - May 12, 2010 -
NewAir, a designer and manufacturer of home appliances, unveiled its new line of portable air conditioners earlier this month.  These fully portable cooling units do not require permanent installation and all feature eco-friendly R-410A refrigerant.

Conventional cooling appliances have used R-22 refrigerant in years past, but studies have shown that R-22 emits hydro-chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).  HCFCs have been found to significantly deplete the ozone layer.   As a result, under the Montreal Protocol, the U.S. and the European Union have been working towards phasing out the use of all substances that deplete the atmospheric ozone. Refrigerant manufacturers will stop producing R-22 in 2010. This means any air conditioning unit purchase in 2010 or later will feature R-410A or another non-toxic alternate refrigerant.

Building on the success of previous models, NewAir is offering five new R-410A portable air conditioner models for 2010 – the AC-10000E, AC-12000E, AC-12000H, AC-14000E and AC-14000H.  These room air conditioners offer affordable yet powerful cooling solutions for individual rooms and areas up to 400 square feet.  All five units also use the eco-friendlier R-410A refrigerant.

Designed to fit small rooms and personal spaces, the NewAir AC-10000E portable air conditioner delivers great performance with remarkable affordability.  It offers 10,000 BTUs of cooling power, making it ideal for instances where the noise and expense of larger units is not required.  The NewAir AC-10000E covers areas up to 200 square feet.

Customers seeking a slightly more powerful air conditioner should consider the AC-12000 series.  Redesigned for 2010, the NewAir AC-12000E and AC-12000H are both designed for small to medium sized areas up to 400 square feet.  Both units provide 12,000 BTUs of cooling and feature advanced auto-evaporative technology.  The NewAir AC-12000H model also comes with a built-in heat pump and works as a space heater during the cooler months.

The largest two units in the NewAir line are the AC-14000E and AC-14000H.  These portable air conditioners are two of the more powerful portable air conditioners on the market.  With 14,000 BTUs of cooling power, these units can handle up to 500 square feet.   The AC-14000E is a cool-only model while the AC-14000H comes with a built-in heat pump, allowing it to double as a space heater in the winter.

"We’re pleased to be able to offer these efficient yet eco-friendlier portable air conditioners to our customers,” says Gordon Lee, a NewAir representative.  "Our new portable air conditioners provide quality performance for a spectrum of coverage needs."

These NewAir portable conditioners can be purchased through authorized retailers such as http://www.air-n-water.com.
