Millcreek Community Hospital Resident Wins State Medical Essay Writing Award

The Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (POMA) recognized the medical writing skills of Joshua Tuck, DO.

PRLog (Press Release) - May 12, 2010 -
The Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (POMA) recognized the medical writing skills of Joshua Tuck, DO. The Millcreek Community Hospital Orthopedic Surgery Resident took second place in the Clinical Essay Writing competition. Dr. Tuck received his award at the POMA Annual Conference in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

His article, Gender-related Anatomic Differences of the Middle Genicular Artery: A Comparative Cadaveric Analysis, will be published in an upcoming issue of the POMA Journal. The middle genicular artery supplies blood to the anterior cruciate ligament, a common site of knee injuries, which are becoming more prevalent in women’s sports.

Dr. Tuck is a Notre Dame graduate and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He plans join Medical Associates of Erie upon completion of his residency. Dr. Tuck had a distinguished U.S. Navy medical career before coming to Erie. He was medical officer for the “Fighting Tigers” of Patrol Squadron 8 in Maine and served as flight surgeon for the 2007 NASA Endeavour space shuttle mission.
