Knight Sky provides turn-key satellite solutions and strategies
KNIGHT SKY AWARDED STATEWIDE BROADBAND SERVICES CONTRACT BY VIRGINIA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AGENCY
Frederick, Maryland, May 12, 2010 – Knight Sky, LLC – Satellite Solutions, has been awarded a contract for statewide broadband services from the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), for three tiers of satellite access service. The statewide broadband services contract is a one-year multiple award contract with four one-year renewal options which enables all public bodies in the Commonwealth to obtain broadband Internet access through multiple technology service tiers with 14 service providers. Knight Sky has been awarded the satellite Internet access portion of the contract at tiers 4, 5 and 6 which provide download speeds of 6, 10 and 20 Mbps respectively, for every zip code in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Knight Sky will offer its newly introduced SKYMAX broadband satellite services, designed specifically for Internet access, emergency response and disaster recovery.

Knight Sky’s SKYMAX service supports peak download speeds from 6 to 20 Mbps and will considerably expand broadband opportunity in Virginia. It also represents a significant step forward for Knight Sky’s SKYMAX service offering for broadband interoperable communications and emergency services.
