May 12, 2010 - PRLog -- To connect family caregivers with companies that create products and services for them, Caregiving.com has launched a new website, CaregivingDeals.com. Beginning today, CaregivingDeals.com sends a newsletter every Wednesday morning to subscribers featuring caregiving deals--at least 30% off products or services family caregivers can use on their caregiving journeys.

To view the first newsletter, go to www.caregivingdeals.com.

It's free to use CaregivingDeals.com—both free to subscribe to the weekly newsletter and free to submit a deal to be included in the newsletter.

“Family caregivers are stretched thin on time and resources,” explains Denise M. Brown, operator of Caregiving.com and CaregivingDeals.com. “With CaregivingDeals.com, they simply receive a newsletter every week which details savings on products and services they can use. We do the work for them.”

Caregiving Deals also helps the small business that creates much-need products and services. “We know that many former family caregivers start a small business to help family caregivers,” said Denise M. Brown, owner of Caregiving.com and CaregivingDeals.com. “We also know that small businesses have small marketing budgets. We want to make it easy for small businesses to reach family caregivers. CaregivingDeals.com is a great way to do this.”

What's a good deal? “Family caregivers want to feel better,” Brown says. “They also want to simplify their lives. So, a good deal for family caregivers will be a product or service that minimizes stress; helps them organize their lives; helps them take a break from caregiving; and helps them cope with difficult emotions.”

Caregiving Deals spans all product categories, from health and beauty aides, to medical equipment, to home care services, to fitness centers, to books, to webinars, to care management services, to coaching services.

Those deals align with what family caregivers want. In its latest survey of its visitors (May 2009), Caregiving.com found that 34% of respondents used home care agencies. Survey respondents were most interested in more caregiving workshops and seminars, followed by support groups, counseling services and geriatric care management services. And, 35% of respondents said they will pay between $25 and $35 for three hours of respite services so they can leave their homes.

In terms of managing their experience, almost 70% indicated that managing their emotions is the most difficult part of the caregiving experience, followed by getting a good night’s sleep (61%), finding the patience that’s needed (53.8%), and finding time to socialize with family and friends (53.8%).

“We know products and services are currently available to help family caregivers,” Brown says. “It's just hard for family caregivers to find them. And, sometimes it's hard for companies to find family caregivers. Caregiving Deals is the perfect matchmaker.”
