Country Cottage Honors Mothers at Mother's Day Tea

May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- DECATUR – Mother’s day is a special day where we honor our mothers for all the love and care they have given us throughout our lives.  Country Cottage Assisted Living and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church honored and thanked mothers at a Mother’s Day Tea on Friday, May 7th.
The traditional afternoon tea was served at the Cottage on Old Moulton Road to Residents and their families.  Pleasant Grove Baptist Church sponsored the event and provided finger foods, sandwiches, a Mother’s Day cookie, and punch for everyone to enjoy.  Carolyn Steele from Pleasant Grove entertained the Residents and their guests by playing the piano.
At 94, Cottage Resident Celia Walter is the oldest mother at the Cottage and Linda Wade is our youngest mother at the Cottage at the age of 60. Ms. Walter and Ms. Wade were presented with gift bags provided by Melanie Holland of Amedisys Home Health.  All mothers at the event were presented with a red carnation in honor of Mother’s Day.
“Mother’s Day is a special day for our Residents and families, and we want to make that day even more memorable by celebrating and honoring mothers with them,” said Lisa Terry, Managing Director of the Cottage.
