Kim Huggins Speaks at Dept. of Defense Leadership Summit and Society of HR Management Conference

May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Generational expert and President of K HR Solutions in Harleysville, Pa., Kim Huggins recently educated two national audiences on generational leadership and differences in the workplace. She presented at the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Staffing Management Conference & Expo and the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Leadership Summit.

On April 27, 2010, Huggins addressed “Talking About the Generations” and explored how businesses can identify and leverage the strengths of each generation as well as what businesses can do now to prepare for the demographic shifts in the labor force at the SHRM Staffing Management Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla.

“The topic of generations in the workplace has been discussed for several years now, but the emphasis has been on the differences between the generations,” said Huggins. “The fact is that while there are differences, there are also many similarities in relation to work including the need for face-to-face communication and preferences around receiving recognition.” She said, “We need to focus on the strengths of each generation and how to leverage them. This is where businesses have an opportunity to significantly impact employee engagement and productivity. ”

Huggins also spoke about Generational Leadership at the DoD Defense Leadership Summit in Southbridge, Mass., on April 29, 2010. The three-day program was designed to explore leadership challenges facing the DoD, focusing on issues driving 21st Century leadership needs. Huggins educated senior human capital officers, organizational leadership, human resource development strategic advisors and specialists, human resources practitioners, national security professionals, academia, educators and training specialists – all participants of the national leadership summit.
