May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Dead Pixel Arcade has released Hot Potato HD for the Xbox 360. Hot Potato HD is a new, high tech take on a popular children's game that expands the way people will look at home entertainment for years to come.

Lead Developer, Derrick Hopkins says , 'Hot Potato HD is a complete paradigm shift in gaming. We we're inspired by Microsoft's Project Natal and how gaming controls are being redefined. Motion controls are the next step in console gaming, but instead of forcing the user to buy expensive add-ons, we've leveraged the existing Xbox 360 controller in a new and innovative gameplay scheme. And by being what we call  mini-massively-multiplayer, anywhere from 1 to theoretically hundreds of players can participate in a game. Our only regret is that it doesn't take advantage of 3D technology. It proved difficult to include 3D in a game with no graphics. But we are considering it for a future content update "

Having met the design goal of having as many buzzwords and cliches possible in the launch announcement, Dead Pixel Arcade sees Hot Potato HD as a triumph in not only next generation game development, but as a glimpse of what is to come in the future of home entertainment. Hot Potato HD has no graphics, and no controls, yet still manages to be an engaging and fun experience for the entire family.

The original soundtrack for Hot Potato HD has been inspired by a wide range of musical styles and genres. It's a diverse mix of audio composition that helps to immerse the player into the game.

Hot Potato HD is available now on the Xbox 360 in the Indie Games section for 80 points (http://www.deadpixelarcade.com) .
