CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Thousands of people are expected in Charlotte Tuesday for the NASCAR Hall of Fame grand opening.

The 150,000 square-foot building will honor the history and heritage of NASCAR.

The museum includes artifacts, interactive exhibits, a theater, and Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant.

The events kick off at 9 a.m. Tuesday with the opening ceremony.

The hour long ceremony will feature NASCAR celebrities, elected officials, and other dignitaries.

A free community celebration will follow the ceremony and lasts until 8 p.m.

NASCAR drivers, concerts and food vendors will be set up outside for the celebration.

Country music singer Lee Brice will perform a free concert at 2 p.m
