– Cannes, France – Canadian-based ID Communications Inc. announces an agreement with Next Page Productions to represent ‘Through the Glass’ the directorial debut by Stephanie Okereke, it was announced today in Cannes by Dan Shannon, President of ID Communications.
"Stephanie has really pulled together an amazing start to her career behind the lens. After years of being a top drawing star for mostly Nollywood produced pictures, she has chosen to study filmmaking in New York, and financed her first film, which she has also written and directed." says Mr Shannon.
“Though the camera clearly loves her, Stephie has cast herself in role as 'the girl next door', allowing her co-star Garret Mckechnie to shine in his comic role as Jeffrey, a committed bachelor whose past is catching up to him." says Mr. Shannon.
“Interestingly Stephanie's film is clearly targeting a mainstream worldwide audience, completely set and shot in California, with just a wink to Nigerian culture in some pretty funny food scenes. Though the film will please a wide base, with a Nigerian population of 150 Million and large communities of ex-pats in every country, "Through the Glass" will attract the diaspora as well, given Stephanie is a household name for Nigerian film lovers. Nollywood has no greater ambassador.
Stephanie is also getting as healthy dose of well-deserved recognition on other fronts as she was recently invited to New York for exclusive readings with the likes of Meryl Streep" adds Mr. Shannon.
"Through the Glass" will have its international market premiere at the Cannes Film Market on May 17, 2010, in Cannes, screen Lerins 2, with Ms. Okereke attending.
