Insertion Based pH Electrode

The easy-to-use insertion assembly allows pH measurements to be made in pressurized tanks and main lines without the need for system shutdown.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - May 10, 2010 -
The easy-to-use insertion assembly allows pH measurements to be made in pressurized tanks and main lines without the need for system shutdown for electrode maintenance and is available with 12, 18 or 24 inch insertion depths and is inserted into 1 inch user supplied ball valves. This adjustable insertion depth allows it to be positioned in a turbulent flow region so that the system can fully utilize the self-cleaning features of the flat surface electrode. By taking full advantage of the unique design of the electrode coating problems are minimized.
In abrasive applications, the electrode is usually positioned even with the pipe wall. This positioning of the electrode combined with its flat surface results in a pH system that is abrasion resistant and virtually eliminates the breakage associated with fragile protruding pH bulbs. This makes it well suited for measurements in liquids with high suspended solids and for measurements in viscous liquids.
In addition, the self-cleaning flat surfaced probe has also incorporated in its design a special feature that allows the electrode to be installed in any position between horizontal and vertical. For example, this feature allows  the electrode to be installed through the bottom of a tank with its measuring surface facing upward, not possible with many other electrodes.
These easy-to-use electrodes can be used with most pH preamplifiers and/or pH meters.  Both electrode and insertion assembly are made of  CPVC or can made of PVDF (Kynar®) for solutions containing organic solvents.
