"We are thrilled that our Mission now includes not only Sweden but Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Norway. Our focus is still business development between our six state region and now all of Scandinavia. States in the coalition are Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. I believe our greatest success stories lie ahead of us as the excitement of our new direction is contagious," SAEDA is directed by a thirty person Board of Directors (five appointed from each state). Mike Demster, who is the International Director of Business Development for The Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, is Chairman. "Our region of the US is by far the most aggressive in offering incentives for business expansion and new capital investment. Once the knowledge of this spreads throughout Scandinavia, our activity should dramatically increase. Incentives, however, is not our only advantage. The cost of operations in the six state region also rates very favorably when compared to any other region of the country. Our appealing climate, attractive labor rates for skilled workers, and nonunion environment are greatly appealing to foreign investors," add Vassallo, the organization’ Steve Vassallo is both a Certified Economic and Community Developer as well as an Economic Development Finance Professional.
