Water Crisis in the US - EcoloBlue Solution

Water Crisis in the U.S. Contaminants, pollutants, dwindling fresh water and failing infrastructures paint a bleak picture. 1.1 billion people do not have access to clean drinking water – that’s one out of every six people on the planet today.

Miami, FL -  “Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink.”  The famous quote from Samuel Coleridge’s 18th century poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, exemplifies the 21stcentury concern that water can be abundant but undrinkable.  Water predominates roughly 70% of the earth. Yet currently, 1.1 billion people do not have access to clean drinking water – that’s one out of every six people on the planet today.
Access to clean drinking water in America is being compromised primarily in three ways: failing infrastructures of U.S. water systems, increasing contaminants and pollutants in the water supply itself and dwindling levels of water in our rivers, lakes and aquifers thanks to drought.

Your tap could run dry
The introduction to the book Aqua Shock – the water crisis in America by Susan J. Marks, minces no words:  “America is running out of water!  Sooner rather than later, your tap could run dry…Once plentiful and pure, today it’s a finite resource like oil, or gold.”
Alarmist? Exaggeration? Ask the residents of Ferriday, Louisiana.  The Natchez Democrat reported on May 14, 2009 that the town residents were under a “very long boil-water notice.”  The cause?  The roof of the town’s water tank caved in - testament to a failing, antiquated infrastructure.

$151 billion needed to repair aging water infrastructure in the U.S.
According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, “America faces a shortfall of $11 billion annual to replace aging facilities and comply with safe drinking water regulations….The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a national survey of drinking water infrastructure needs. The survey results concluded that approximately $151 billion would be needed over 20 years to repair, replace and upgrade the nation’s…drinking water systems to protect public health.”

The citizens of Ferriday know all about failing water infrastructure first hand. But what about water systems that are generating so-called clean water?  An Associated Press investigation in 2008 reported, “A vast array of pharmaceuticals including antibiotics, anticonvulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans.” The five-month-long investigation revealed that drugs were detected in drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas.

Toxic water endangers our school children, study reveals
A September 25, 2009, headline added more damning data: “Study: Unsafe Toxins Found in Drinking Water at Thousands of U.S. Schools.” The article revealed genuine concern about our school children’s drinking water. “Over the last decade, the drinking water at thousands of schools across the country has been found to contain unsafe levels of lead, pesticides and dozens of other toxins. An Associated Press investigation found that contaminants have surfaced at public and private schools in all 50 states.”
A December 12, 2009 Ascribe Newswire article released results of an unprecedented analysis of 20 million tap water quality tests performed by water utilities between 2004 and 2009. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) revealed that “tap water in many large metropolitan areas is polluted with a “cocktail of chemical contaminants…’unregulated’ chemicals include the toxic rocket fuel component perchlorate, the industrial solvent acetone, the weed killer metolachlor, the refrigerant Freon and radon, a highly radioactive gas.

Unregulated chemicals and pollutants pouring out of US taps
“…In most U.S. households, pouring a glass of tap water means exposing families to hundreds of distinct chemicals and pollutants, many of them completely unregulated,” said Jane Houlihan, Senior Vice President of Research at EWG.
“There is plenty of evidence that Americans already have doubts about the safety of their water. In March 2009, a Gallup poll found that Americans rank water pollution as their number one environmental concern. When it rains, it pours, comes to mind. Each of these issues would be of concern, but bundling them together is overwhelming. Mother Nature dishes out drought across the land
But that really isn’t the entire story.  Not by a long shot. What about good old Mother Nature - what does she add to the mix?
As Aqua Shock points out, “Tens of thousands of acres of the nation’s farmland already are parched and reservoirs, lakes and streams across the country have dried up.” The author notes that our underground fresh water supplies stored in aquifers as well as our rivers and lakes are shrinking and polluted. Water shortage is very real in the U.S. Forty-six states are predicted to be under drought conditions by 2013.

Is there a solution to polluted water and dried up faucets?
What can we do to protect our family and its health? Is there a way to provide an unlimited stream of pure, fresh drinking water? There are, of course, point of entry water filter systems to reduce contaminants where the water enters your home. And there are many filters that can be attached to faucets. Just how effective they are is a question – some are vastly more effective than others.

Water can also be treated by a personal, point of use water filtration device.  The device is based on gravity flow and requires no water pressure.  It’s cumbersome and slow, but better than nothing.  However, it will not generate water nor will the treated water’s purity be guaranteed.

The good news: unlimited, pure water can be generated at home
What will generate water?  Is there a way to produce safe, purified water without relying on conventional water sources?  Can you literally “make” water on your own? The answer is yes. The solution is based on the concept of the old tried and true dehumidifier?
The basic principal of a dehumidifier – a machine that pulls moisture out of the air - has been radically updated and incorporated into something called an atmospheric water generator (AWG).  Atmospheric water generators literally suck moisture out of thin air, filter and purify it in order to deliver drinking water. There are a number of AWG’s available on the market today, but the state-of-the-art model is the EcoloBlue 30™.

CEO of EcoloBlue, Henri-James Tieleman, declares quite simply, “We are in the business of offering water independence to you and your family.”  Water Independence.  Imagine that.
“We’re so excited and passionate about what we do,” Tieleman affirms. “We offer the solution – both for the consumer as well as for industrial and commercial needs. EcoloBlue™ delivers the most advanced technology by generating pure water from the humidity in the air and continually strives to improve the efficiency of this technology. Why? Because pure, drinkable water is the most important necessity in life.”
Pure, continuous water at home for only 20-45 cents per gallon. The company’s flagship product, the EcoloBlue 30™, stands alone in the industry. It’s easy to use thanks to its sleek design which is enhanced by an LCD touch screen. It delivers both hot and cold water and self-generates and purifies eight gallons of delicious water every day.  It boasts the lowest energy consumption in the industry by far, and produces water at a fraction of a fraction of the cost of bottled water.  “For 20 – 45 cents a gallon, your family can have pure water at their fingertips.” Tieleman observes.  “No plastic bottles involved at all. Not one!”
The unobtrusive EcoloBlue™ atmospheric water generator unit measures only 44” x 16.”  It is relatively small compared to the huge benefits it delivers: 99.9% pure water in your home or office. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kICIaLuHePc

It doesn’t change the fact that there’s a serious water crisis, but it does offer peace of mind that comes from the knowledge that your family will have access to pure water to drink every day of the year - genuine water independence indeed.
