Political scientist and economist, Daniel Brackins has released his paper refuting Prof. Douglas J. Amy's piece, "The Forgotten Achievements of Government."
Prof. Amy has been working on his personal website Government is Good: An Unapologetic Defense of a Vital Institution for many years in an attempt to make the case that government is a valuable and indispensable institution that deserves our support. Prof. Amy supports an increased role of government in our lives.
Brackins says, "Prof. Amy has done a poor job of making a case in support of government intervention. Since Prof. Amy is in an institutional position, as he is a professor, it is important to refute his claims and show the fallacies in his reasoning." Prof. Amy's work is often cited as evidence in support of various government programs.

Daniel Brackins is founder of the Bastiat Institute, member of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and former Chief Economist for the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii.
