Oil spill bad for the environment: EV is the answer.
Oil spill bad for the environment: EV is the answer.
PRLog (Press Release) - May 09, 2010 -
The whole world is watching this catastrophic mess playing out while here in Florida it is politics as usual. Candidate flip-flops on the off-shore drilling issue claiming some newfound independence (not from oil for sure) while having abysmal record on moving the Electric Vehicle EV agenda forward like Gov Schwartzenegger has so  brilliantly done in California. Here is an excerpt from EVI (Electric Vehicles International):
Governor Schwarzenegger leads launch of electric vehicle pioneer EVI’s new Stockton headquarters New worldwide headquarters and manufacturing facility creates green jobs, reduces carbon emissions, and helps achieve California’s environmental and economic goals Stockton, CA, November 4, 2009 – Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, other state and local leaders, and representatives from Electric Vehicles International (EVI),………

Here are some of the headlines the media is bombarding us with the past week, notice nowhere is a connection made to electrification of transportation as a mean to reduce our dependence on oil.

•  Oil blowout device maker has $500M for liability
•  In Alaska, gulf spill brings back painful memories
•  Oil contamination evidence found in  turtles
•  No remedy in sight for Gulf oil spill
•  Gulf Coast dreads oil spill's creep toward shores
•  Rough seas again thwart cleanup of oil catastrophe
•  Salazar calls Gulf outlook 'grave scenario'
•  Dead jellyfish washing ashore along Miss. coast

Floridians need to raise their voices and let the politicians know unequivocally it is time for real implementation of policies and initiatives to make Florida a state as green as California. The Florida Electric Vehicle Association should be at the forefront of efforts to raise awareness about how Electric Vehicles EV can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE IN REDUCING AIR POLLUTION, GLOBAL WARMING AND OIL SPILL DISASTERS.
I urge all Floridians who are following the disaster and the upcoming elections   to consider the candidates records (or lack of) on green, clean energy and Electric Vehicle EV in particular.  A Florida EV initiative is good for the environment and good for the economy. Electric Vehicle trend is likely to dominate the transportation and energy sectors going forward over this decade and beyond.  The future of auto is electric and the EV-Revolution has already started. It is time for an EV Florida, as we clean the mess we must electrify our government and corporate vehicle fleets as well as provide state incentives for the mass deployment and adoption of Electric Vehicle EV as preferred mode of transportation.
