CHANDLER, Ariz.–   The Chandler Cultural Foundation, which facilitates programming and funds development for the Chandler Center for the Arts, has added two members to its Board of Directors and approved expansion of the Board size.  Ana Maria Regalado, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Hispanic Research Center in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University and Richard Frazier, Vice President and Executive Director of the Catholic Healthcare West Foundation in the East Valley join the now 15-member board.

City Council approved this month an increase in the Chandler Cultural Foundation’s board size from 13 members to 15 members, further increasing the organization’s ability to fundraise and promote programs at The Chandler Center for the Arts.  Adding Ana Maria Regalado and Richard Frazier to the board leaves two seats still to be filled.

“We are excited about the caliber and breadth of experience that we have been able to attract to our growing Board.  All of our Board Members have deep roots in Chandler and a strong passion for the arts, giving us an important perspective on real issues facing the local arts community,” said Katrina Pappas, foundation president and general manager of Chandler Center for the Arts.

Ana Maria Regalado has been actively supporting the Center and has served on the Programming Committee where she was involved with in working closely with the Center in recommendations and selection of the diverse arts programs.  In the past, Regalado has served on multiple committees including the Human Relations Commission and has assisted the Police Department’s Victim Assistance Program for the City of Chandler.   In her role at ASU, Regalado is responsible for supporting and promoting initiatives for the Hispanic Research Center.

Richard Frazier’s passion for the arts stems from his past experience with the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he conducted a successful capital building and endowment campaign that allowed the arts center to open.  Ever since moving to the East Valley, Frazier has been actively involved in the community and is currently serving on other boards including Boys and Girls Clubs of the east Valley and the Chandler Non Profit Commission.  In the past he also served as president of the Ocotillo Rotary and member of the East Valley Community Bank Board of Directors.

"With the addition of new Board members and the expanded board size, we can further expand our philanthropic initiatives and provide more innovative arts programs for Chandler,” said Ernie Serrano, Jr. Chairman of the Board.

The Chandler Cultural Foundation was created to review and approve proposed management policies of the Chandler Center for the Arts and review the budgets of the Center's Operating and Endowment funds to develop funding mechanisms to support them.  The Board Members also play an active role in reviewing and approving proposed programs and visual art exhibitions at the Chandler Center for the Arts.

The Board has 15 seats, out of which two are vacant.  Current Board Members are:   Ernie Serrano, Jr – chairman, Barbara Meyerson, Steena Murray, Anne DeRose, Lydia Gonzales, Jerry Brooks, Jessica Blanco, Linda Yarbrough, Mark Knight, Tom Carr, David Woodruff, Ana Maria Regalado and Richard Frazier.
