Ethics Insurance CE Requirement Now Mandatory

A nationally approved Insurance CE provider, Broker Educational Sales & Training, Inc. (BEST), informs producers that a mandatory Ethics training requirement is in effect in most states. Most of these states require a minimum of three (3) credit hours biennially* of Ethics training with the exception of:

● Arkansas – eight (8) credit hours annually of CE, including one (1) credit hour of Ethics. (On January 1, 2011 a new CE requirement of twenty-four (24) credit hours biennially of CE, including three (3) credit hours of Ethics goes into effect.)*

● California – twenty-four (24) credit hours biennially of CE, including four (4) credit hours of Ethics.*

● Kansas – twelve (12) credit hours biennially, including one (1) credit hour of Ethics.*

● Minnesota – on July 1, 2010 a new CE requirement of twenty-four (24) credit hours biennially of CE, including three (3) credit hours of Ethics goes into effect.*

● New Mexico – fifteen credit hours annually of CE, including one (1) credit hour of Ethics.*

● Ohio – on January 1, 2011 a new CE requirement of twenty-four (24) credit hours of CE, including three (3) credit hours of Ethics goes into effect.*

● Texas – thirty (30) credit hours biennially, including at least two (2) credit hours of Ethics/Consumer Protection.*

* Producers are advised to review their state’s specific requirements prior to purchasing CE courses.
