Perfect Wireless Interconnect
ITT Interconnect Solutions, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of connectors, interconnects, and cable assemblies, has developed a new connector that improves signal transmission and reception in wireless handheld devices. The Perfect Wireless Interconnect features a 300k psi domed interconnect contact with a minimum force of 0.5N and deflection of 0.6mm, holding true signal integrity through the antenna and experiencing no field failures.
“Along with signal integrity, an additional challenge in handheld wireless applications is to provide a high specification interconnect that fits in extremely limited board space,” said Keith Teichmann, director of marketing for ITT Interconnect Solutions. “The Perfect Wireless Interconnect has a reduced length to fit tight spacing, yet withstands manufacturing stresses and remains stable on the board, providing an optimum solution for handheld device manufacturers.”
Available in beryllium copper (BeCu) or titanium copper (TiCu), the Perfect Wireless Interconnect also features side-walls to provide beam protection and a solder well to prevent wicking.
The Perfect Wireless Interconnect is specified for use as a SIM, speaker/vibrator, microphone, battery or board-to-board contact in a large number of handheld wireless applications, including handsets, smart phones, laptop computers, memory sticks, CT scanning equipment, key fobs and GPS units.
Typical pricing for the Perfect Wireless Interconnect ranges from $0.075 to $0.115 each. Lead time is from 6 to 8 weeks.
