May 5, 2010 - PRLog -- The festival, held at the Tilles Center at CW Post in Brookville, NY,  opened its doors at 6PM on Friday, April 30th to an anxiously awaiting crowd of both Led Zeppelin and Hammer of the Gods fans alike. The promise of "celebrating all things Led Zeppelin" was kept as the lobby was quickly filled with fans of all ages and backgrounds.

Tables featuring original and rare Led Zeppelin memorabilia were showcased as well as rock history lessons for the delighted on- lookers. Enthusiastic questions flew from both young fans and seasoned rockers while laughter and excitement filled the halls.

Many visitors arrived in period clothing, adding to the ambience of a true 1973 rock concert event. Impromptu discussions between strangers of every walk of life went on from every available corner, and more than one friendship was made as Led Zeppelin fans found a sense of camaraderie amongst their peers.

A definite sense of community was in the air as all shared stories of days gone by.

Highlights of the festival included:

The Long Island Drum Center's impressive display of a John Bonham replica drum set surrounded by various other vintage books, CDs, and other rock and roll items.

RockCANRoll, a non-profit organization collecting food and monetary donations from the charitable crowd.

WBAB Radio giving away tons of goodies and adding to the excitement of the evening.

Various prizes, including a 24" John Bonham Paiste Cymbal, an autographed poster signed by The Who's Pete Townshend, and an autographed Les Paul Guitar on display, with portions of raffle proceeds donated to RockCANRoll.

The festival atmosphere continued well into the night during Who's Next electric performance, followed by  the explosive Led Zeppelin Experience performed by Hammer of the Gods.

Audience members cheered and danced as the powerhouse band brought to life Led Zeppelin's live show once more. When questioned why she was crying during "10 Years Gone", a Led Zeppelin fan-favorite, one audience member answered "I was one of the lucky ones who saw Led Zeppelin live in 1977. I feel like I've just seen them again."

Zep Fest promises to return to Long Island again next year, bringing with it more of everything for fans to enjoy.

An award-winning musical spectacle, Hammer of the Gods has been thrilling audiences with their hauntingly authentic performances since 2000. Rock fans young and old have praised it as a brilliant theatrical achievement as it continues to sell out show after show. Striving to recreate Led Zeppelin's powerful and mystical music legacy onstage, Hammer of the Gods delivers a performance second to none, suitable for audiences of all ages.
