Saljet Sterile Saline Vials

Each Saljet vial contains 30ml of sterile saline and with a quick twist of the top the vial is opened and then a nurse can squeeze the vial to deliver a steady stream of sterile saline at the correct pressure to cleanse the wound. When finished, the nurse simply disposes of the Saljet vial. Saljet eliminates the chance of contamination from reusing a previously opened container of saline and the cost of sharps disposal.
“There are other advantages offered by Saljet in a Long Term Care, homecare or skilled nursing setting. The nurse, or the patient, can easily warm the saline in the Saljet vial simply by holding it in their hand for a minute or two, avoiding the problem of cold saline on a wound,” says Rose. “Additionally, nurses can easily place a few Saljet vials in their scrubs pocket and carry Saljet on their rounds. Finally Saljet is less expensive than any other procedure when using saline in caring for a healing wound.”
