Young Musicians, Bands And Talent Show Launches In Hailsham

May 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Young entertainers aged between 13 and 19, residing in Hailsham or surrounding areas will showcase their talents at the Y.O.M.B.A.T.S. contest on Sunday 23rd May at the Hailsham Pavilion in George Street (6.30pm-10pm). The new event is organised by Hailsham Town Council’s Square Youth Café in partnership with Hailsham Community College, and it is hoped that the competition will be successful enough to enable it to become a permanent fixture on Hailsham’s calendar of annual events.

Anyone interested in entering the competition can do so by taking part in a series of auditions, which will take place at Hailsham Community College on Wednesday 12th May from 3.30pm.  A maximum of four minutes is allowed for performances at the audition.
Prizes include £150 for the competition winner, with runner-up prizes of £100 and £50 for second and third place.

The Town Council’s youth project coordinator, Andy Joyes said, “The Y.O.M.B.A.T.S. competition offers talented young individuals and groups the opportunity to not only put on their best show, but gain useful experience of performing in front of a live audience and raise a positive profile for young people in the area.”

He added, “The Square Youth Café is committed to encouraging young talent in the area I would encourage members of the public to come along to the show on 23rd May to offer their support for the various acts.”
