Škoda Australia’s entrant in this year’s Targa Tasmania has completed the Pure Tasmania Modern as fastest front-wheel drive in this category. A Skelta G-Force, two Porsche 911 GT3 and a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 were the only other two-wheel drive vehicles in the Pure Tasmania Modern to finish ahead of the Octavia RS. The Octavia RS finished ranked 21st overall.
Škoda’s entry into the Targa Tasmania 2010 was supported by the Carsales Network. The experienced driver was Mike Sinclair and his rally co-driver was Justin Hunt who, together, form an excellent team. Watch them at work on the Team Skoda Carsales Targa Tasmania mini-site www.carsales.com.au/
“To finish as fastest front-wheel drive in the Pure Tasmania Modern demonstrates the outstanding handling and performance the Octavia RS has on offer. To be pipped by four other two-wheel drive hardcore performance cars emphasizes the great value package that the Octavia RS is. Not a bad effort for a white automatic wagon and Škoda’s first foray into tarmac motorsport in Australia,” says Matthew Wiesner, Head of Škoda Australia.
