This is the second year the Biltmore will host Fashion Week and it is shaping up to be another great showcase of the creativity and uniqueness of Providence. The organizing company, Providence Fashion Week LLC has a mission to make this event of the same caliber as New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. CEO and fashion designer, Conrad Lamour stated, “Our purpose is to help stimulate the local and national scene and our goal is to make Providence a fashion capital because it is a very creative and artistic city.” The company is constantly evolving the different events and has just recently decided to add a high-fashion hair show. This is going to be a one of a kind event that involves hair stylists in the Providence and Boston area and will be focusing on high fashion hairstyles and not just about the clothes.
The week is not entirely about the glamour and looks, there are also charity events being held in between shows for the American Breast Cancer Association and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Providence Fashion Week LLC strives to contribute to both the fashion culture as well as the betterment of the Southern New England area.
