Coaching For A Cause Helps Non Profits Raise Money

Houston…On March 31st Coaching For A Cause officially completed its first session and the results were outstanding.  ActionCOACH’s goal was to help clients to raise a combined $2.5m in the six-month period.  Having surpasses it’s goal, ActionCOACH helped to raise a staggering $3,409,645 world-wide.  This is an awesome effort when you consider that the program was only launched at the Global Conference in Sydney last year.

Texas’ number one ActionCOACH, Doug Winnie, has been helping The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston (TWR) by donating his time to coach the organization’s leaders. By working with TWR’s Executive Director, LaTanya Flix, Winnie has been able to not only to help TWR strengthen relationships with past, present and future donors, he has ensured an increase of almost triple that of TWR’s biggest donors.  According to Flix, “Doug is a wonderful sounding board for me. He has great ideas that not only cause me to think more strategically, but that also move our organization forward.”

While the program is not due to begin again until October, Winnie has decided to continue his coaching of TWR.  Winnie believes in The Women’s Resource’s goals:

•   Help women become economically self-sufficient
•   Encourage prevention and early intervention of problems affecting women and children
•   Support programs that help to develop and improve life skills
•   Actively involve women in philanthropic decision-making
•   Educate women about charitable giving

Winnie's goal is to help TWR change as many lives as possible by using the famous Confucius proverb:  “Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”  By teaching these women to become fiscally responsible, there is hope for these women and men involved in TWR.
