May 3, 2010 - PRLog -- The Call Center industry is no stranger to employee health issues.  Overall the industry boasts high employee churn. Inbound centers average about 40% annualized churn while outbound centers can exceed 300% annualized churn per center.

High stress, entry level pay/skills and complicated technology demands on the agents also contribute to growing challenges with agent absenteeism.  As a result, many centers are faced with increases in FMLA or general STD leave creating gaps in their performance levels or overall ability to meet business objectives.

Add to this the fact that healthcare costs are on the rise as well, it creates a difficult balancing act for managers of contact centers across the US.

The American Teleservices Association (ATA) is pleased to announce a new meeting series in Houston, Texas on May 4th.  We will be focusing on "What's the scoop on Healthcare" with a keen eye on the areas that are most important to the call center environment.  We will discuss everything from Reform to Wellness Programs for call center professionals.

Leading panelists in the healthcare space will be addressing questions and answers for this interactive meeting format.  Guest speakers include:

Todd Morrow, General Manager of Benefit Concepts, Inc.
Lori Wallace,  Wellness Consultant from The Methodist Hospital
Aikkisha Belgrave, Clinical Program Consultant with United Healthcare
Don Williams, President of Superior Benefits

The meeting location is 2950 S. Gessner Road, Houston TX and will run from 11-1 p.m. on Tuesday May 4th.  Our host location is offered by Nx Source based in the Houston and a provider of call center technology.

The session will start with a catered lunch.  Following lunch, we will include time for networking with other industry professionals - a key focus for all ATA meetings across the nation.

The panelists will speak for 1 hour and then the meeting will conclude with ATA updates and a door prize drawing.

Members and non members of the ATA are invited to attend this informative event.  The cost for members is $15 and only $20 for non-members (lunch included).

"We are really excited about our meeting in Houston. The South Central Chapter of the ATA represents 5 states, Texas being the largest.  We most often host our events in Dallas, but wanted to extend our educational series to our members and guests in the Houston area.  As a business owner myself, I am very interested in learning more about the Reform act and how it will directly impact or not impact how I do business in the future.  I am also thrilled to have our wellness experts on site as we all know that prevention is the best way to address some of our agent challenges. I look forward to a great exchange of ideas", said Laurie Alm, President of the South Central Chapter of the ATA and President of Motivated Incentives, LLC.
