May 2, 2010 - PRLog -- On May 26th and June 2nd, Sounds Familiar will be bringing two magical evenings of musicals from the West End and Broadway, to the towns of Alfaz del Pi and Calpe. The show, called "Musical Magic", includes hits from shows both old and new ranging from Anything Goes and Carousel to Blood Brothers and Chicago, stopping off at Cats, Les Miserables and many more along the way.
The Producer and Musical Director of the show, Philip Ashley, said "the music for this show has been more challenging for the cast".  Some of the more difficult numbers in the show include Jellicle Cats and a medley of songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Previous shows by Sounds Familiar have been set with the entire cast on-stage throughout the performance.   The first show was set in a bar, and the last show, called "The Silver Screen", was set at an Oscar-style awards ceremony.  Musical Magic is being presented in a more traditional style and without narration so the show will flow
seamlessly from one number to the next.
Sounds Familiar will be joined at the Casa de Cultura in Calpe by Theatre Express from Javea.  They will be adding their own variety of music and energy, including two numbers that they performed at "Her Majesty's Theatre" in London during the Spring.  25% of all tickets sold for the Calpe show will be donated to the Friends of the Children of Emaus.
The show in Alfaz del Pi on May 26th will be performed at Forum Mare Nostrum.  Tickets are available from the Forum or by telephone on 96 687 8400.
Tickets for the Calpe show on June 2nd are available from the "Book and Card Shop" in Av. Gabriel Miro in Calpe, or from "UK Telecom" on the Moraira-Calpe coast road (opposite the blue cow).  You can also order your seats by telephone on 96 558 1483, or through the website at www.soundsfamiliar.es
The doors open at 7.30pm in time for the show to start at 8pm.
Tickets for both shows are priced at 12 euros for adults, 8 euros for under 14's.
