This is the first Mirage venue to open in North Carolina. Owner Gary Vitale has over 20 years’ experience in the lounge and restaurant business and has operated venues throughout the East Coast. Vitale says that he is planning on opening several other Mirage in the future—particularly in Charlotte, NC—and is pleased to be opening “ the most exciting and exclusive sushi restaurant and evening venue in North Carolina.”

Choi has over 20 years in the restaurant business and has worked in some of the largest cities in the world including Boston and New York City. He specializes in high-quality specialty sushi, tapas, and modern American cuisine. His exotic and delicious menu and its presentation is a must see. "Mirage Sushi Lounge is going to be something very special,” says Choi. “A lot of sushi restaurants in our area use frozen fish. At Mirage, we will have fresh fish daily. Our Sushi restaurant is going to be great. Great prices, ambiance, and food all together.”
Vitale says that he wanted to bring an upscale dining and entertainment lounge to Raleigh. He plans to add a patio later this summer, which will make Mirage over 13,000 square feet. He says that building this facility in Raleigh has been an experience that he will never forget and is particularly appreciative of Bull for his support on this project.
“Shane is a great guy. The knowledge and dedication he has given me have been amazing,” says Vitale. “When I had questions for Shane, he always answered them honestly, which I really admire. We worked extremely well together.”
Bull, along with George Richards, senior vice President, retail team leader for Grubb & Ellis|Thomas Linderman Graham, worked with WEST developer, Gregg Sandreuter of Hamilton Merritt Inc. in closing the lease for Mirage. Bull says that with the addition of Mirage, WEST is reinforcing the Downtown Raleigh Alliance’s vision for the city as “a treasure trove of wonderful surprises” and “an eclectic gathering of fascinating people and places that’s uniquely Raleigh—and uniquely downtown”.

Radio station G105 will host the official grand opening of Mirage on Saturday, May 8.
