Stosur Through to Quarter Finals

April 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Samantha Stosur has made it through to the quarter finals of the WTA tournament in Stuttgart while top seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark crashed out after suffering from a recurring ankle injury.

Australia’s Stosur survived a first set scare before she rallied to beat Romania’s Alexandra Dulgheru 3-6 6-0 6-2 in her second-round match.

Stosur was off to a shaky start and looked to be in trouble in the first set, but rallied back in the second and third to beat her opponent Romania’s Alexandra Dulgheru 3-6 6-0 6-2.

She will now face China’s Na Li on Friday.

Wozniacki, World No. 2, was clearly struggling after the sprained ankle she suffered in Charleston earlier this month flared up again. She lost 6-4 6-4 to Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic in just 66 minutes of her second-round match.
