Who: Held by Cascade Hospital for Animals. Everyone and their pets (you don’t
need a pet to participate)
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary and the Humane Society of Kent County.
Why: The objective is to promote healthy lifestyles for pets and their people, and
to benefit rescued animals. Did you know that as of 2005 66% of Americans are considered overweight or obese? Did you know that 40% of our pet dog population is considered overweight or obese? Obesity is the number one disease affecting us and our pets. Obesity can lead to other disease conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, trouble breathing, exercise intolerance and an increased risk of cancer. The good news is, you can do something about it! All human participants will get a T-shirt and metal and all canine participants will get a bandana. Awards will be given out as well as raffle prizes.
