Control Products, Inc., a trusted leader in electronic control technology and global manufacturing, has been sensitive to environmental concerns throughout its history. This eco-friendly philosophy has been factored into all areas of decision making. Today we are issuing a challenge to our customers and vendors to expand their environmentally friendly initiatives and join with us in contributing to the environmental revolution. Some examples of green initiatives we have implemented in recent years are as follows:
• Providing packaging options for our customers that include returnable/reusable shipping containers.
• Establishing a four day work week at manufacturing locations in order to reduce energy consumption and total commute miles.
• Consolidating two shipping locations into one, resulting in fewer shipments and less transport miles.
• Continuous recycling of scrap PCBs and electronic components.
• Recycling of office supplies such as printed material, printer and copy machine cartridges, batteries, etc.
• Voluntary participation in Excel Energy’s “Wind Source Program” which involves purchasing electricity derived from renewable sources.
• Recycling all corrugated packaging materials and replacing packing materials such as bubble wrap and packing peanuts with air pillow type packaging material.
• Expanding lead-free component usage worldwide.
Control Products is continually on the lookout for ways in which it can positively impact the environment and its business model. According to Paul Carlson, President of Control Products, “Green initiatives are not only the right things to do; they also deliver significant and measurable economic results. All businesses should participate in the green revolution.”
