Follow on Google News | Entries To The Kennel Club International Agility Festival Set For Record NumbersEntries for the Kennel Club International Agility Festival 2010, sponsored by Purina ProPlan, look like they are set for record numbers this year.
By: The Kennel Club Press Office The festival includes qualifying classes for DFS Crufts 2011 and Discover Dogs 2010 plus the Kennel Club Nations Cup and the Kennel Club International Young Handler of the Year. The on-site camping is also proving to be a real hit with competitors and spaces are filling up fast. There are a limited number of pitches left and anyone who wants to camp for the duration of the festival is urged to book their pitch as soon as possible. Commenting on the festival, Caroline Kisko, Communications Director of the Kennel Club, said: “Agility is the UK’s fastest growing dog sport and the festival is certainly testament to the sport’s appeal. This year we expect to see record numbers of entries and over 2,500 dogs of all types, sizes and experience levels competing.” Kelmarsh Hall is located in the Northamptonshire/ The closing date for entries is Thursday 24 June 2010. The Festival includes Crufts and Discover Dogs qualifier classes: • Kennel Club Starters Cup (final held at Discover Dogs 2010) • Kennel Club Novice Cup • Kennel Club British Open • Young Kennel Club Agility Dog of the Year (semi-final & final held at Crufts 2011) 2. Class entry fees are: • £6 for Novice Cup, Starters Cup & International Young Handler classes • £2.80 per class for standard classes 3. Puppies under 18 months of age on the first day of the show will not be eligible to compete. 4. To be eligible to compete, dogs must be registered on one of the Kennel Club’s registers, the Breed register or the Activity register (this register is open to both pedigrees and non-pedigrees) 5. International travel with your dog - Anyone from outside the UK who would like to compete can obtain guidance from the UK government at www.defra.gov.uk. Overseas competitors must apply to the Kennel Club for an Authority to Compete. 6. Festival opening times and visitor fees: • Visitor entry - free • Car parking - £5 per car • Show opening times – 7.45am, briefing at 8.15am, and judging from 8.30am • Camping and accommodation – Limited camping is available and is permitted from 10am on Thursday 12 August until 10am on Monday 16 August 2010.
