April 29, 2010 - PRLog -- After nearly 4 months of travel and over 1900 miles; 1400 miles of which have been journeyed by foot, Southern California native, Daniel "Bodhi" Chapin, has reached Memphis, Tennessee. The 38 year old Chapin, a Youth Pastor, Former EMS Chaplain, and longtime advocate for youth has received previous awards for his work in community service throughout the nation including International service merits with the Consulate Generale of Mexico out of Los Angeles, California.

Chapin's journey across the United States initiated in January 2010 in Orange County, California and was organized to promote community solidarity and to raise awareness for the importance of unified faith based youth programs throughout the nation. Across the country he has walked over 1400 miles and has accepted rides, without solicitation, equaling over 450 miles.

While the majority of the journey has been hiked, Chapin, who is supported by team members throughout the country who aide in locating host homes & arrange interviews throughout his venture; has only recently decided to accept rides from individuals who pull over unsolicited. These, he considers as, "Divine appointments" and additional opportunities to meet individuals across the country he may not necessarily have a chance to otherwise. The decision to both hike & accept rides from individuals was also made collectively with team members so as to allow Chapin to reach his destination of Nashville, Tennessee in ample time to begin work on his youth program/ministry scheduled to be planted in Nashville, May 2010.

A youth benefit concert featuring such artists as contemporary Christian artist & Grammy award winner, Rebecca St James, as well as Singer- songwriter, Terra Naomi, is in the making to preempt the program/ministry plant.

Chapin, whose journey across the country has been widely publicized throughout national media venues including: Tucson Daily Star, The San Pedro Valley Times, Trinity Broadcasting Network, The Gospel Station &The Las Cruces News-Sun has been noted recently by the "Global Journal" as, "A Test of both man's Faith in Himself, his God and the Elements and People who surround him.." Chapin plans to remain in Memphis, TN until May 4th 2010 for rest and to chronicle the area and its people for inclusion in his book covering the cross country sojourn, its' people & experiences entitled, "The Road To Emmaus 2010."
