Chapin's journey across the United States initiated in January 2010 in Orange County, California and was organized to promote community solidarity and to raise awareness for the importance of unified faith based youth programs throughout the nation. Across the country he has walked over 1400 miles and has accepted rides, without solicitation, equaling over 450 miles.
While the majority of the journey has been hiked, Chapin, who is supported by team members throughout the country who aide in locating host homes & arrange interviews throughout his venture; has only recently decided to accept rides from individuals who pull over unsolicited.
