New Jersey Fishing Reports-Fisherman Fred's Fishing Report

Seaside area seems to be the place to be this morning. Blues are chasing the bunker and there are a few stripers in the mix. I have had no reports from IBSP or LBI yet this morning.

Saltwater Report:

4/28/2010
Update 8:45AM
Seaside area seems to be the place to be this morning. Blues are chasing the bunker and there are a few stripers in the mix. I have had no reports from IBSP or LBI yet this morning.

What can you say about the fishing on IBSP yesterday? Well I can think of a word "WOW". Blues had the bunker on the beach with stripers below them. I had lots of reports thoughout the day of blues and stripers being caught. Most stripers were caught on clams but bunker chunks, AVA's and plugs are working. Blues were hitting bunker chunks and metals. I have not checked the store email or voicemail yet so I don't know if anything is still going on. I will update the report if once I get to the store and I hear anything.

Update 9:50AM
The fishing from IBSP / area is smokin right now. Lots of blues and short stripers being caught with some keepers thrown in. This storm may have jump started the season early. If you are going to fish got down there now.

Update 8:05AM
All ready had reports of blues and stripers being caught from IBSP / Seaside area.

Well yesterday was a pretty good day for blues and stripers from the IBSP / Seaside area. Stripers were also caught from LBI and the Orltey Beach area on clams. A lot of things are working as well, like bucktails, AVA's, Deadly Dicks, and plastics. It seems this years spring season is off to an early start. Looking at my log books it isn't until mid to late May in the past. All I have to say is get out and fish NOW!!!

Bay Report:

4/28/2010
Had tons of reports that 4 to 8 lb bluefish are all over Barnegat Bay. Heard when you were anywhere near them you couldn't cast without catching a blue. Had some reports from the jetties and blackfishing is still going strong. If you want to keep blackfish you better get out there the season closes Friday until July 16.

I sound like a broken record here but blues are all over Barnegat Bay. Just about any where you fish you can catch them. Boats, docks, bulkheads are all doing great.

Fresh Water Report:

4/28/2010
Only hearing from the trout guys lately. Trout fishing has been pretty lately. A lot are reporting limits. Stony Brook, the Assunpink Creek, Colonial Lake, the D & R canal behind Mercer Mall, Bakers Basin Road, and Whitehead Road have all been good. I did have a few reports from others that crappie, catfish, sunnies, and a few bass were caught.

4/27/2010
Few fishing because of the so I didn't get many reports. Only thing I heard were a bunch of crappie are being caught from Miry Run and Gropps Lake. As far as the Delaware River, they are still catching herring, shad, and some stripers.
