BRAINS 2 BEAUTY: KATHERINE ALEXISS with The Closet Boutique + Jessilyn Rodriguez P.R put on a Show

April 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Discovering Miami’s hidden talents, Katherine Alexiss is putting on more than just a fashion show. With partners like The Closet Boutique, Devine Trash Hair Studio, Artist Jenny Perez, Photographer Cassidy Athos, musical talent Komakozie and a live improve band, artist unite, demonstrating what Miami is really about. Conjoining May 7th, 2010 at 7PM-11PM, venue, Mia at Biscayne, sets the diverse scene with its lounge, restaurant, sidewalk café, and nightclub.

Watch as Brains 2 Beauty styles the night’s wardrobe from The Closet Boutique’s playfully trendy threads. The vision of “Brains 2 Beauty” is to influence individual style, utilizing fashion that is expressive and functional for the everyday, socially active woman. The theme of the night will be daywear that can transform into the perfect evening attire that never has you over or underdressed for any occasion on the go.



The entire event will revolve around strikingly sophisticated and professional women in black framed glasses. We will meet their alter egos as soon as they take them off and transform from that prisoner of the “9 to 5” into their after hour mode. This transformation will be incorporated and brought to life on the runway by the vibrant paintings created by Jenny Perez, and though promotional photo shoots conducted by Cassidy Athos.



While the models show-off on the catwalk, a performance by beat-boxer Komakozie backed up by a live band will be playing energized tunes with a twisted edge, creating the ideal rhythm for models and the crowd to catch Katherine Alexiss’ vibe.



Katherine’s vision goes hand in hand with the idea of transforming the publics perception of what fashion is in Miami. “It’s more than string bikinis and rollerblades. There’s a whole other aspect to style in South Florida that people fail to see, and my mission is to connect the dots. It’s art, it’s inspired by music, and it’s seen in a picture. These are the very things our city is about and who better to shout it to the world than the artist themselves. This is why we united.”



Proceeds from the Brains 2 Beauty fashion showcase will be donated to The Dream Foundation in hopes of giving adults with terminal illnesses one last wish in living their dream.
