Professional footballers and some of the south's leading businessmen are taking part in a charity football match at AFC Bournemouth's ground on May 25, raising funds to send members of the 521 Youth Club to Tanzania to help build an orphanage.

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 28, 2010 -
Blue Chip, the south’s leading specialist IT provider, is again putting a selection of professional footballers and leading business men through their paces, with a charity football match at the Classic Eyes (formerly Fitness First) Stadium, home to AFC Bournemouth, on Tuesday 25th May 2010.

Spectators are invited to watch seasoned professionals Jimmy Glass, Aaron Skelton, Jason Tindell, Vince Bartram and John Bailey, amongst others, take on a team of the south’s business directors, who are swapping the boardroom for the football pitch.

All monies raised will send under privileged members of Southampton’s 521 Youth Club to visit a Tanzanian orphanage and work towards building a £15,000 accommodation block – one of the programs run in Tanzania by not-for-profit organisation, Light In Africa (www.lightinafrica.org).

Its work is to care for sick, abandoned and handicapped children, as well as other unsupported people in Africa, with many of its programs and actions dependent on volunteerism, such as that from the 521 Youth Club members.

Spectator tickets for the football match cost just £5.00 per adult and £1 for the under 16s, with full proceeds going towards sending the volunteers to work on this much needed project.

Managing Director at Blue Chip comments: “We are great supporters of the Youth Club and recognise the valuable life skills that helping to build the orphanage will teach the young people, whilst helping those in Africa who need it most.  It is great to have so many professional players and business people prepared to dedicate their time for this match, and it would be fantastic to have great spectator support to raise even more funds this year.”

Blue Chip is both encouraging spectators to come along and support the event, and inviting businesses to provide prizes for the raffle auction after the match.  For further information, contact Kate Morris at kate.morris@bluechip.uk.com

Representing their respective companies the South’s leading business Directors include; Richard Cook (Blue Chip), Robert Taylor (Blue Chip), Peter Fowler (Fowler Solicitors), Anthony Tilley (Elite Teamwear), Edwin Bessant (Ceuta Healthcare), Paul Woods and Neil Woods (Astute), Glyn Stimpson (New Forest Instruments), Andy Thompson (Specialised Products Ltd), Matthew Kerr (Northbank Vehicles), Chris Sawkins (Dell) and Colin Fucoco (Hags Play), with The Fire radio presenter, Dave Taylor joining them.

The match, sponsored by international playground and recreational equipment provider Hags Play and Canford School, kicks off at 7.30pm on Tuesday 25th May.
