Free seminars in Phoenix, Reno, Salt Lake City, Denver in May to focus on hearing conservation

A series of free seminars are scheduled for Phoenix, Reno, Salt Lake City, and Denver in May to help employers improve hearing conservation efforts and prevent noise-induced hearing loss among their workers.

April 28, 2010 - PRLog -- SMITHFIELD, RHODE ISLAND, U.S.A.  — A series of free seminars are scheduled for Phoenix, Reno, Salt Lake City, and Denver in May to help employers improve hearing conservation efforts and prevent noise-induced hearing loss among their workers.

Titled “HearForever™: Best Practices in Hearing Conservation,” the three-hour sessions will provide employers with practical information on noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), and the latest research and technologies to enhance worker hearing protection programs.

Industrial hygienists, occupational health & safety professionals, safety managers, and audiologists are urged to attend. Topics will include:
• Basics of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss
• Key Elements of an Effective Hearing Conservation Program
• Impending Changes to the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) and How They Affect Employers
• Selection and Fitting of Hearing Protectors
• Employee Motivation and Training Techniques/Resources
• New Hearing Conservation Innovations and Technologies

The seminars will run from 9 a.m. to noon, and are scheduled as follows:
• Phoenix: Monday, May 17, at the Hilton Phoenix Airport, 2435 South 47th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034-6410;
• Reno: Tuesday, May 18, at the Silver Legacy, 407 North Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501;
• Salt Lake City: Wednesday, May 19, at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center, 255 S.West Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101;
• Denver: Thursday, May 20, at the Doubletree Hotel Denver - Southeast, 13696 East Iliff Place, Aurora, CO 80014-1319.

Attendees will receive free training materials, literature and hearing protection samples. Following each seminar, attendees will also have the opportunity for hands-on demonstrations of Howard Leight’s new VeriPRO® earplug fit testing system and QuietDose® in-ear dosimetry. Members of ASSE and AIHA are eligible to receive CEUs.

The seminars will feature Director of Hearing Conservation Brad Witt of Howard Leight®/Sperian Hearing Protection, LLC. He’s been recognized as Outstanding Lecturer twice by the National Hearing Conservation Association.
