Guest overuse isn´t the only reason a big portion of a hotel´s energy bill is tied directly to lighting. Inefficient bulbs are also major culprits. Fortunately, the fix is easy enough. Hotels can optimize their lighting efficiency by replacing standard incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL) that use less electricity and last up to 10,000 hours longer.
