The IMS Research security report for 2008 found that Royal Boon Edam's global market share was 11% for Pedestrian Entrance Control Equipment.
In addition, the report identified that in the Americas, Boon Edam Inc., a USA subsidiary, held a decisive, dominant market share of 22% in the same category.
“Boon Edam has the advantage of offering a full range of innovative security entrance products coupled with an established, global distribution network from our core revolving door business,” states Mark Borto, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Boon Edam Inc. “But even if you can get a quality product anywhere it is critical to provide a dedicated line of support and service. This has always been our focus and I believe it is why our customers return to us and continuously grant us our leading position over time.”
Boon Edam Inc. was also shown to hold significant margins for its sales in the Americas (North and South America) of specific security entrance products as follows:
• Americas market share for all Security Doors in 2008 was 42.1%.
• Americas market share for Revolving Security Doors was 45.1%.
The IMS report notes that revolving security doors are likely to remain the preferred door technology (compared to security portals or booths) in most applications due to their high traffic flow and versatility.
