The Learning Well Announces Free Times Tables and Mental Maths Workshops for 2010

Using techniques based on those of the memory world champions The Learning Well is launching free workshops to help parents help their children aged 6 to 12 with times tables and mental maths. The workshops are taking place in and around London

April 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Many parents struggle to help their children learn their times tables using rote learning which children find boring and dull.

There is an easy, enjoyable way to remember the times tables if you know where to look. So, where do you find he answer?  Who can give you this answer?  How do you start?
For the answers we need to look at those with the best memories, the memory champions.

The Learning Well has done just this and has made these champion methods simple and easy for parents and children to understand.
We still expect our children to learn by rote, just because that is the way that we learned when at school. For example 1x3 is 3, 2x3 is 6, 3x3 is 9 and so on.

Dominic O’Brien eight times world memory champion, memorised 316 numbers in 5 minutes, to set a world record in 2000 (a pack of card in 38.29 seconds). If the memory champions like Dominic learnt by rote the records achieved would be massively short of the amazing standards reached by them.

Dominic O’Brien and those that have set the records are not geniuses, they themselves say that they use simple techniques that anyone can use and with practice and achieve great feats of memory.

Alan McMahon of The Learning Well said to parents recently –
“Just think what a difference it would make to your children if you knew how to use these techniques for learning Times Tables and mental maths. Just imagine the confidence that your children would have as their abilities greatly improved and schoolwork became easier and easier”.

The Learning Well workshops will focus on teaching parents a set of easy and fast methods and techniques unique to The Learning Well that greatly improve children’s abilities in times tables and mental maths. Parents will then be able to make maths fun and help their children improve their abilities in school.

Sarah Monks, mother to 6 year old and 9 year old daughters, said;
"My husband was totally amazed to see the transformation in my daughter’s times table abilities after only an hour of using the method. The result was brilliant and my daughters learned and remembered the tables in only a few days. It took me years to learn the tables when I was at school."
