April 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Well known artists including Hutch, Ink Fetish, Remi/Rough, Req, Don, Foundry, Mishfit and many more will be painting high profile areas in Brighton – some as high as 60ft tall - giving visitors a rare opportunity to see them at work. There will also be a public gallery selling exclusive artwork in Myhotel.

The event is produced by Wet Paint Productions and is now in its second year. Borne out of a desire to showcase local talent outside of a gallery environment, its founder Guy Harris said: “Brighton has a long and close afinity with street art and some of the best urban contemporary artists in the country call it home. After last year's inauguaral event we wanted to do something bigger and better. And believe us, it's going to big!”

This year The Beautiful and the Canned is helping to raise awareness for the national homeless and housing charity Shelter, and specially designed tee-shirts by some of the artists will be on sale in the Brighton Shelter shop prior to the event and via the gallery over the weekend.

The event has received great support from local organisations including Brighton and Hove City Council, building contractors Cheesmur, who will be building the 24ft squared ‘paint box’ in Jubilee Square, the eco-friendly Big Lemon bus company, who’s vehicles are currently featuring paste up work by Snub23 and Funky Red Dog, Facelift, who have provided powered access equipment and the Brighton Business Lunch network, who have already helped to raise £600 for Shelter.
